skinnywaters
Ok everyone, so I am trying to find a nice yamaha f150 to replace my 2 stroke 130. All that seems for sale out there are 25" shafts. Im torn here - switch out shaft or jack plate. My experience with jackplates are that since the motor gets pushed back off the transom, you end up drafting more and I don't want to do this. Just not sure if it would make that much of a difference though with this hull or if it would be better to go with the work to switch out shaft. Thoughts? Nag Juice
There are some 20" legs out there, you just have to be patient. I wouldn't hang the wrong motor on the back. I'd let it sit before that. Be patient and get what you want.
lurem
ditto what Nag Juice says. Keep an eye out and one will pop up.
justfish
Plenty of reading on here from us that have had 1900's. It's designed for two strokes. With the f150 the scuppers will likely need to stay plugged. The concensus is no jack plate on that hull. It will just enhance the weight problem.
