New Trailer Brakes

all wet

Recommended Posts

Well after installing the backing plates at 9:00 oclock position. I had to change them to 12:00 oclock position. Ameritrail doesn't leave much brake lines to play with. All pressured up and bled down. Test run tomorrow to see how they perform. After the price on all stainless hardware I shouldn't have to hit the brakes on my truck at all. I'll post some pics up later. Bot is still being cleaned up.

Doing maintenance on the trailer today, I noticed my rotors need replacement also.  I have the tiedown torsion axle with tiedown brakes as well. The hubs are disc hub single piece unit by tiedown as well. If I swap to a different disc hub that are not integrated but use the same diameter rotor am I good to go, or do i need to replace caliper as well? My calipers aren't bad and should have plenty of life left in them. The piston moves freely in them.
