Limitless
I believe the Governor is very serious about this approach to turning things around. His strong recognition of the symbiotic relationship between Florida's economy and the environment is real. He will do what he says, of course big sugar still has some friends in the legislature that may slow it down some. Hopefully he'll pull the plug on Beruff's appointment to the FWC too! Big Dave
This was some of the best news I've read in a long time. That was a principal reason for my support. He "gets it".
jason p
Fingers crossed. Probably the best news I’ve gotten from someone I actually voted for in a long time.

Limitless
Just heard he is rescinding Scott's appointment of Beruff to the FWC. The Guv may be just the kick-***, get it done guy we've been waiting for!
Capt. Troy
Didn't even have enough time to get his photo up. There are a few more on the commission that Scott appointed that need to be looked at. Rood is the only one on there now that mentions fishing and hunting in her BIO. A few others are suspect to me. Read the BIO's below. Besides Rood is pretty! https://myfwc.com/about/commission/commissioners/
linesider 159
A great step in the right direction. The environmental issues lately have cost the state a lot of tourism money. Freshwater lakes are dealing with relentless spraying, and saltwater has its own issues. This action coupled with the closed snook and redfish could really be a turning point for the improvement of our fisheries. Hopefully it continues

MuddyBottomBluz
She actually resigned from the commission shortly after Governor was sworn in, she saw the writing on the wall?

Limitless
I believe the one that resigned was SFWMD vice chair, Melanie Peterson, not the FWC commissioner Rood.

This^^^^ I am glad she is still there. Have met with both her and her husband and they seemed pretty genuine. Here is another one of Scott's appointees.
