dabear
After that motor gets a few hours on it he should see 45 -46 MPH with a 17 Spitefire maybe a little more with one person . That 10 mph speed gain should put a smile on your face ,A ten MPH speed increase in a bay boat is a major increase . Good luck with your prop testing . What numbers are you seeing? dc Rarely use the tabs for hole shot. Boat has always jumped on plane pretty well without them unless I have a heavy load. Numbers posted soon! Joe R Prop test results: Original - PT 17P — 33 mph @ 6200 rpms (surprisingly good hole shot) Yami Talon 19P — 44 mph @ 6000 rpms (sluggish hole shot) Merc Spitfire X7 17P — 44.5 mph @ 6000 rpms (acceptable hole shot) Merc Spitfire X7 19P — 45 mph @ 6200 rpms (sluggish hole shot) Yami Turbo 19P — 45 mph @ 6200 rpms (worst hole shot of them all) My prop and the Talon were tested by the shop that hung the motor. The other three were supplied by a local MBG Forum member/speed demon who has been a huge help in the entire process. Thanks bro! pf

lurem
We did test it 3 ways, full port (all holes open), partial ported and then last I plugged all the holes so it was not ported al all.

pondfisher
A big thank you to Lurem and Sweendog for guiding me through this testing and decision making process. It was extremely close between the Spitfire 17P and the Talon 16P. Going with the Talon because of the massive hole shot and a near match to the Spitfire top end. Thanks Dale! Thanks Jeff! Thank you Outlaw and others who gave their time and valuable input. ~ Pondfisher
