Best anchor for older 2200s?

Looking for a new anchor for my 2005 2200TE that will fit in the locker. Was using a cheap 10# slip ring which fit great, but bent it and would like something better. Tried a Fortress FX-7 and it didn't quite fit. Danforth, the crown sticks up too far and I can't shut the lid. Don't really want to drop 200 bucks on a Sea Claw. Anybody have anything they're using that they really like?

Already have a Power Pole and an iPilot, but neither of those will do me much good when diving.

I have the same boat and use the original Sea Claw anchor. You can look it up on line or call Kevin at cell 941-468-4796 or office 941-698-5744. Best anchor I have ever used. Ships in one day. Kevin can tell you what weight anchor you need for the 22. I had mine in hand before he received my check. Great service.

The truth is that the old anchors lockers were for show.  They are not very practical to use.  It’s a pain to keep the door open while you are pulling rope out and stowing the anchor, line and chain is worse.

My suggest is to hunt for a Danforth High Tensile 5H, use 6-10’ of chain along with adequate amount of 3/8” nylon rope.  Store it in the big front hatch.

I had a 2003 PF 2200. The only decent anchor that would fit in the locker (I did not have a sea-Claw at that time) was the West Marine 8 pound traditional fluke anchor. I tried others, including the fortress, and the shaft/shank were too long. The West Marine anchor held up pretty well compared to others in the same price range. I bent one or two into pretzels over the years when I'd get them hung in a ledge. I now have a Sea-Claw on my 2500. It hooks up faster and holds very well.

then you wont stick where you want...

I used mine for yellowtailing and i needed to be precise....i have not found any other anchor that holds as well with or without a chain.

I used to use a Sea Claw witha  6 foot chain....stop, drop, and done.....be sure you have an anchor ball...I used to tail in the keys in 80-100 feet and only needed 150-200 feet of rode.

IMO - you get what you pay for....

BTW, I have one on my MA17 skiff....stop, drop, stick without a chain obviously as I rarely anchor in more than 10-20 feet.
