fin-addict
Looking for quick and simple answer to a question. If more detail is needed I can provide a small book of details. Disgusted, 4 hours to bleed a two station steering system. After adding hyd fluid and bleeding system FOUR times in 4 hrs using a electric bleeding/purge unit still had air in system. Mechanic said to use boat or stay at dock and and turn wheels lock to lock to continue bleed. Went out this morning to do and found everything was normal as before the work was done. ???? What the hell !!!. Is it possible that unit purged itself by sitting overnight. Charged $537. To replace lower helm fill plug & bleed system including their lunch break of 45 minutes and go buy new plug, 30 minutes. Think I got hosed, lol. Stated if this did not work, would come back and do manual bleed as I requested after the second bleed. They did not have the parts needed to do so. Sorry this was longer than intended, just frustrated with can’t fix stupid. I feel like the stupid one honestly.
SSN651
Happens to me all the time when testing protective relays. Never acts up till I'm alone with it. Chuck 😀
brew1891
Recently replaced the hydraulic cylinder on the motor side. Didn’t power bleed but did it the manual way a couple of times. Still wasn’t right. Called boatsteer out of Sarasota where I got the cylinder. Told me to let it sit a day or two so all the micro bubbles form large bubbles. Then bleed again. Worked great after the 3rd bleed so yes it’s possible but I thought the power bleed was supposed to alleviate all of that.
