I am registered and have reserved a room at the Pines and Palms Resort,  it is less than a half mile north of Breezy.  The Sands is full and I haven't moved up at all on the wait list at Breezy so I decided to secure a room at Pines and Palms they have a ramp and free dockage.

This will be my first time participating in this MBC event, looking forward to a great time and meeting good people!

hey mike, did you fall asleep on us here - it's been over a week without?  or is the dreaded work trip the problem again?  in any case, why don't either you or woodsie do the honors this year of starting the boat play list along with the general cut & paste instructions for the horns to follow to identify and line up their entries.  no reason for it not to be another record year.

fun's a comin' and it's comin' fast!!

We are looking forward to the Owner's Tournament, and meeting the new owners. The best part of the OTs is meeting the owners.  I have some lifelong friends who I met at these Tournaments over the years. The Captain's Meeting is Thursday after 5 pm.  Make sure you are there, and introduce yourself to everybody. Don't freak out about the rules, or kill yourself fishing: This event is about beautiful boats in Paradise.. and the great people who own them !

It is good to catch fish and earn raffle tickets.  There are many, many great prizes to be won..

See you all there !

Sure but I am not one of the real experts. We can hook you up with the right people. Glad you guys are in. If you want the route to Flamingo let me know and I can email it to you.

My 24TRS and Flamingo don't get along... If its too breezy to run out to the humps I usually try to run to East Cape.. Havn't had any luck up there so looking for some Maverick guidance.

We were down in July, and Flamingo was barren: Grass was dead & floating. Fish were found out by the outer islands. Your 24 can work around the outside OK..

There's always a place to fish around Islamorada if it is rough offshore. We snorkel the patches inshore for Hogs and Lobster, anchor in any deep cut with chumbag and drop back shrimps for snapper (for raffle tickets), or load the cooler and just go to the sandbar.

Granted, we go down a couple days before the tournament and stay till Tuesday.. We get in plenty of fishin.. The Tournament is about fun..

Looks like there will be a number of boats to run offshore for a change.. We will talk down there.. The Mahi run was poor so far.  Maybe they will show late..

For the new Members to Breezy Palms Resort..  There is a shallow, rocky channel into the marina. I added some markings to an aerial photo for reference. However, there are no formal markers in red or green: They are four PVC sticks placed at the shallowest, rocky part of the approach. On lower tide stages it is best to idle out 100 yds past the stakes before jumping up. Shut down out there too and idle the channel tilted. Skinny boats can run the approach most any time. Jump outside the docks for courtesy, and shut down once you get past the PVC stakes 50 yds.. or so.

The Red X's are rocks.
