FL-PATHFINDER
Hello all I just recently put on a 225vmax HPDI and my oil tank on the engine keeps overfilling... I know that the HPDI burn a lot less oil than my old carb model but now it just keeps overfilling and making a mess on the, any thoughts on what to do? linesider 159
The float is stuck which causes the pump to keep running. You can replace the float if needed

linesider 159
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the float is attached to the cap on the small oil tank on motor. A quick call to a yamaha dealer and they can get you the part if it needs replacing
rckeat
If you decide you need the engine tank float switch, I have a brand new unused one I would like to sell. I thought I needed one but it turned out I had a different issue as my engine mounted tank wasn't filling. $100 to your door if interested. smooth move
sounds like a float failure. however, i had a 200 hpdi for 13 yrs and it gradually used more and more oil. seems like when it was new, i never put oil in it. by the time i had 12 yrs on it(1000 hrs) it seemed like i was putting oil in it every time i put gas in it. anyhow, i got scared of it and tired of dealing with fuel issues and sold it went to a new 4 stroke. FL-PATHFINDER
I installed another float switch on there (didn't know if it worked or not but I got it for free) and im still having this issue after the engine has been running for a while. maybe the oil pump internal switch is stuck in the closed position? has anyone experienced this issue before?
