Chitwood21MA
Where are you guys putting your 5 gallon buckets on the 2500?
CaptDavis
Back compartment on the floor. Right in front of the live well.
Tall Tails
One will fit under the back seat with a lid on.
jason p
I’ve also used the monster hatch up front but for cast nets I like to put them under the flip up seats.

How do you keep it from sliding around? This is an ideal location but I worry about it bouncing around and busting something loose from one of the pumps-
jason p
You could get one of these bucket bases if your worried about it. https://www.amazon.com/Shurhold-240-Bucket-Base/dp/B00MYTLVGM
Moderator
Those bases work like a champ !
jason p
I was thinking about pulling the trigger on one myself. I’m a pretty big fan of Shurhold brushes and handles, I’ve had the same handle for like 15 years. Once you destroy a few cheap brushes and get over the initial shock of a $40 brush head you realize a few years later they’re worth it. I've been on the fence about their handle/brushes for a bit. Not sure why, I don't skimp too often. I'm tired of patching my current handle every time I need it. jason p
Do it and forget about it. Speaking of skimping, I used to wash the non skid on the HPX with a “medium” Shurhold brush and I would wash the smooth stuff by hand with a mitt. Now that we have this big Pathfinder my wife made me get a 10” “super soft” brush to do the shiny gel coat... GAME CHANGER. I feel like an a-hole for not getting one sooner. I wash the vehicles with it as well.

Appreciate the info on the brushes.

Thought about just roughing up the surface and using a little bit of 5200 instead of screwing it to the hull.
jason p
If your gonna go that route I’d get some 5 minute epoxy of some sort and put a dab under each screw hole and set it in there. If it doesn’t hold, it’s a lot easier to remove than 5200.

I keep mine in the floor hatch ahead of the live well. Doesn’t need to be secured unless you put a lot of weight in it. I keep mine empty except for my empty bait bucket and a rag. CaptDavis
Haven't broken anything, and usually have two buckets with castnets in them. Fish offshore a lot and with no issues.
fishmanjj
I have found that if you put a half bucket of water in aft corner it stays..... if empty , it slides around and / or will blow out.
Chitwood21MA
Bucket issue Fixed- Can't say enough about Chuck & the gang at Fort Myers Marine. Dropped my boat off Monday for some warranty work, everything was done that day and they mounted a bucket holder in the bilge. Minn Kota plug fixed (Thanks Rhodan lol) Flaking paint on the lower unit touched up
Tall Tails
Battery Tender plugs are the only way to go. I built an aluminum bracket that also acts as a backing plate for the TM. The plug mounts to it. Its well under the lip, out of the way and gets much less water on it.
