I never really thought about this but what if you just cut out the top of the lid? I am thinking maybe leave an inch all the way around. You could then glue the glass to the lip and possibly fiberglass a lip under the plexi glass I would assume it would need to be rather thick to walk on .

May I ask why would you want a clear lid for. Jmo, do not see any advantage to it. Can only see that it would add to heating the water in the tank thus reducing the life of your bait. The present lid does insulate the tank somewhat.

Good question: why clear lid?

Bait stays friskier in lighted conditions. Most of the better serious offshore boats use clear lids. When you close a solid lid the bait gets disoriented. Healthy bait is the key, doesn’t matter so much when using shrimp but for white bait like pilchards light and moving water is best. MBG does such a nice job with their dual feed live well getting good water movement in all columns last step is clear lid

Not sure if you're still looking, I just made mine on my laser cutter yesterday, I'll post pictures when I get home. Just waiting on my gemlux compression latch to get here to install it, then put it on the boat. If anyone else is still looking I can start making them and putting them out for ~$150
