doktrred
Have a 1999 PF 2200 V with a 1998 150 vmax. It came with a 19P TRP, but soon after we bought boat we found a crack in the TRP case and didn't use it except for one time. Decided to go with a standard LU, but had tough time finding one without a lot of hours and rebuilt ones were like hens teeth. SO, found a never used LU off a 2016 175 SHO for good price (original owner put a TRP on boat immediately). Talked to a lot of people including several Yamaha techs, and everyone said the newer LU should work on an older motor, but no one had seen it done . Anyway, talked to well known prop shop in Austin and they suggested starting out with a Power Tec ELE 15X17P four blade prop. Went out this past weekend and made 2 WOT runs. First was 5900 rpm at 37 mph, second was 6300 at 39 mph. Note we had 3/4 tank of gas and two people, and full live well, so we weren't maxed out loaded down. But honestly boat expected to have 2 maybe 3 people and couple tackle boxes, 40 to 60 # ice, so didn't think we were too far off from a normal load? I'm thinking we need to be in the 5300-5600 rpm range right? Looking for insight and wisdom

craSSh
PowerTech and Prop Gods both recommended the PT OFX4/17 to me. I'm pleased with it. It never blows out in turns and has a great hole shot. I get 5800 @ 45-46 with fishing load , 2-3 people.
doktrred
I'll have to check and see what the model # of the prop we had was.
