bowdaddy Posted October 21, 2019 Report Posted October 21, 2019 OK so I figured out the on-off-on momentary toggle switch is bad on my Bobs Jack Plate blinker switch. I tested the harness by connecting positive an negative leads to the blue/green wires and the plate moves fine. I called Bobs but they will only sell a new unit 80.00, they did graciously offer 5% off so I could replace a 10.00 part. Has anyone found out where to buy that switch, it is unique because of the threading on the end. I have found "long handled" toggles that will work but without the threaded end. I asked Bobs if they would give me the manufactures name but of course no, only 5% off. Any help would be appreciated.
geeviam Posted October 22, 2019 Report Posted October 22, 2019 Did you test with the blue/green wires off the toggle switch, or the blue/green wires in the back of the boat near the jack plate? Reason I ask is I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad relay, and not the switch. But, if you need to shop toggle switches, you could try this company - they have 2,499 to choose from. 🙂 https://www.newark.com/c/switches-relays/switches/toggle-switches
jason p Posted October 22, 2019 Report Posted October 22, 2019 FWIW... when my blinker goes out for good or the space connectors totally rust off I’m gonna replace it with a simple on-off-on spring loaded rocker or toggle (like HPX trim tab switches) and mount it to the dash.

I found a long handled switch that will work, I am just going to put thread tap on it and make it work. Really disappointed in Bob for not fully supporting product. thanks for the link
ASB Posted October 22, 2019 Report Posted October 22, 2019 Did you test the switch with a multimeter?
bowdaddy Posted October 23, 2019 Author Report Posted October 23, 2019 Yes to multi meter question, switch was the culprit. I replaced the original switch from Bobs with Pollack Professional long handle toggle part number P34-220. Plug and play everything back to operational. The toggle fits and the handle is long enough for operation as normal, So if Bob offers you the 5% discount just buy this part and you are back in business, took me about 15min to do the work.
bowdaddy Posted October 23, 2019 Author Report Posted October 23, 2019 I did not have to thread the end of toggle handle plenty long enough, just forgot to add that.
