Dale Nelson
Has anyone had a stainless steel quick release trolling motor bracket made? I’m looking for one to put on my older Motorguide 80lb 60”.
FINCHASER
You talking about the puck? A guy that used to post on here, FS and hull truth (Boattronics) did one (puck) outta aluminum block, he owns a custom marine rigging shop that goes by that name. Think he had a thread on here... If memory serves it was a re do on a Pathy 24. He may be able to help you on this or at the very least have the dimension. Let me know what you find out Id be interested in a SS puck as well
mdemott
What are the advantage of this over Starboard?
Dale Nelson
The starboard ones are pretty weak and only have the small lip and one pin to keep it locked down, we drilled an additional pin in a buddies of mine to hold front and back. I will probably go the starboard route with the modification
smilemaker
Over a long time starboard will develop stress cracks from sun and stress . I have 2 pins on my quick release although they are one unit on one boat, my 04 2200TE still has one of the original pucs done by Hobo here on the forum. Now showing stress cracks. ( Hobo, isn't the guarantee lifetime) An aftermarket ss or aluminum would be nice.
