Tunnel Hull or No???

Currently have a 2001 Pathfinder 2200v with a low hour 2008 Yamaha F150 and have really liked the boat. I stopped at a local Marina and happen to noticed a 2002 2200T that was just repowered with a F150 for sale. Lot more storage than my 2200v and freshly repowered. I have received multiple calls from the Marina asking if I am still interested and the price keeps coming down each week they call. One thing I noticed was this 2200T is a tunnel hull. What would I be giving up or gaining if I decided to buy this boat? Does the tunnel greatly affect the ride and handling compared to my current boat?? Any advice?

The cap design is much improved on a 2002 that's for sure.

The tunnel design will be slower than your current boat with the same power.  Tunnels will get up in less water and should run a tad more shallow on plane.  But definitely slower.

The tunnels were catered to the Texas / Louisiana crowd and they didn't make them long

i have an 02 2200v and my neighbor had the 2200t. his handling and speed weren't as good as mine and he wasn't getting any skinnier than me. i think the tunnel wasn't big enough to really be a true tunnel.

Thus why they are not manufactured anymore.....
