Flatschaser Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 Currently have a 2001 Pathfinder 2200v with a low hour 2008 Yamaha F150 and have really liked the boat. I stopped at a local Marina and happen to noticed a 2002 2200T that was just repowered with a F150 for sale. Lot more storage than my 2200v and freshly repowered. I have received multiple calls from the Marina asking if I am still interested and the price keeps coming down each week they call. One thing I noticed was this 2200T is a tunnel hull. What would I be giving up or gaining if I decided to buy this boat? Does the tunnel greatly affect the ride and handling compared to my current boat?? Any advice?
Lap it Up Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 The cap design is much improved on a 2002 that's for sure. The tunnel design will be slower than your current boat with the same power. Tunnels will get up in less water and should run a tad more shallow on plane. But definitely slower. The tunnels were catered to the Texas / Louisiana crowd and they didn't make them long
fin-addict Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 From what I heard the tunnel will not give the ride quality like the 2200v in a chop.
smooth move Posted April 9, 2020 Report Posted April 9, 2020 i have an 02 2200v and my neighbor had the 2200t. his handling and speed weren't as good as mine and he wasn't getting any skinnier than me. i think the tunnel wasn't big enough to really be a true tunnel.

Thus why they are not manufactured anymore..... DC
