Boat Ladders

Yes, there has to be something to keep the ladder in place, under the platform. If not, the ladder will extend while you are driving and be flopping in the water. The problem is; you have to be able to stand on the platform or lean over the transom and bungee the ladder to the platform. That's why a bungee is easier than Velcro. It's a one handed operation.  I replaced the original bungee thing a couple years ago. I installed two shorter bungee cords, one on each side. I lay on the back deck, lean over the transom and stretch the bungee loops, one over each corner of the ladder.
