GrayAngelfish
I have a garmin GPS/depth finder, not sure which model, has a thru-hull transducer, since very shortly after I got the boat (new) I’ve had a lot of “noise” at the top of the screen, can’t pick up depth running and lose depth around 800ft regardless of speed (that may be normal). Looking to see if anyone has had similar issues and if so what you did to fix it.

SCFD rtrd.
Not familiar with that unit, but when you did the set-up, did you select the correct megahertz? And do you have the unit set to automatic as opposed to manual select? Another source of noise is other electrical equipment. If the unit gets it's power from a distribution panel, that could be the source of the noise. You could try running temporary wiring from a battery, directly to the unit and see if that makes any difference.
Cabo Jack
You may be getting too much noise at the surface, from the wash created by your props or some other disturbance. From the Sonar screen, select Menu > Sonar Setup > Noise Reject>Surface Noise
DavisIslander
Looks like the 94? Reduce your noise and it should help out considerably!
