Mounting Side Scan Transducer - 2007 Hewes Redfisher 18

Hi All -

I am looking to purchase a new Lowrance HDS Live Fishfinder and I am curious where others have mounted the fairly large Transducer. I currently have the small Lowrance Hook model transducer mounted to the Hull just to the left of the right Trim tab. I like to run shallow water so reading depth at 20mph would be ideal. 

Any thoughts? Below is where my currrent transducer is and it will not read at hardly any speeds.

I don't have that hull but its close and thats where mine is and the images are very good there.

Just curious where you ran your cable thru the hull? Did you drill a hole in the splashwell?
