mulligan Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 I figure I would pass this along in case it might help. While running the boat this weekend one of my tabs was not working. When I got home I checked the connections and all was good. Checked incoming voltage to tab and got 12.5. Hooked tab back up and voltage dropped to around 6VDC. I then went from the tab direct to the battery and still had a drop in voltage. I figured the actuator was shot and with nothing to lose and $175 to gain i started take the actuator apart. On the top of the actuator is the electric motor and where the wires are. There is a pair of small spade connection and that is were my problem was. The connection had some corrosion build up on them. A quick clean, dielectric grease, seal it back up and all is good. So if you think you are needing a new tab take 5 minutes ti check the motor connections, it could save you a few bucks. 1 Quote

tarpon41 Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Thx for the info, it will come in handy in the future for sure! Quote
smilemaker Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 if the spade connectors have corrosion it won't be long until the motor is corroded. it is getting moisture where it doesn't belong. 1 Quote
Wanaflatsfish Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 Hawg, You mean it doesn't work anymore ? Looks good to me dc Quote
smilemaker Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 Nothing a couple cans of WD40 can't take care of. The very reason I changed over to Bennett Bolt system. An easy no hassle swap. Quote

Funny this came up Dino, I was gonna PM you about the bolts and how you like so far, thanks for answering! I am looking to put a pair on my 22 bay boat. Quote
Wanaflatsfish Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 anytime...I changed out mine in one afternoon...took a bit of fiddling to understand how to connect the switches, but, they have been bullet proof since. dc Quote
smilemaker Posted June 2, 2020 Report Posted June 2, 2020 you can use the existing switches and wiring. they are the same theory on wiring to a double pole double throw switch. Quote
