Waterman18
So I’m Considering a new 22 TRS. My two previous Pathfinders that both that Jack plates and we’re very useful. Being budget conscious I’m debating whether to add one or not to the build. My previous 22 required one because of the clearance of the steering rams. This one has the notch so it’s not a problem. It’s a $1500 add on! Will I miss it?
redzone1
If you going to power with a 20” shaft SHO, then you will have to have a jack plate with 10” setback so the prop can catch water. if you run a 25” shaft motoring an F150, F200, F225, or F250, then you will not need a jackplate
BlackShirt
I had no jack plate on my 2200 TRS running an F150 with 25” shaft and never had issues with it. I am more of a minimalist and like simple ( less to break or maintain )
jh141
Yamaha does make a 25" SHO now. Personally I like having my jackplate. It has helped me out of some sketchy places without hurting anything.
HoneyB
If you had one and used it. You will miss it a lot.
bernieNC
I have one on my 2200TRS and use it every trip. Could I get by without it, sure. Do I like having it, most definitely.
Bamaskeet
It really depends if you plan to run in shallow water. I didn’t have one for a long time, but since mounting a jackplate, I have a lot more confidence running across a shallow flat.
