SeaSerpent123
Going to get a Hewes 18, my third boat from MBC and can't wait. My question is on trolling motors. What's everyone's opinion on Minnkota vs Rhodan?
linesider 159
Minn Kota 80lb ipilot 60 inch. Rhodan remote just feels too cheap to me

Grandson in-law just got same boat, 1995. Looking for a MK TM. Thought 54 would be Fine. Does not do offshore.
linesider 159
You can do either honestly. I will say on my last boat I cut the shaft down to 45 and loved it for shallow water. No more fighting to cast over it
smilemaker
i have found that if the head sits higher it is easier to pull up and tilt over. The shorter the shaft the greater the torgue from the weight of the motor while storeing it.
