ASB
I have an 04 22’ TE and had a rule 1100 that finally died. Thinking I could just go buy a new one and hook it up to the old strainer basket, I was disappointed to see they came out with a new style and new strainer basket. As most of you know this job can be a nightmare due to the small access to the bilge area. The old strainer basket screws came out easy and clean thankfully and thank god the new strainer basket had 2 screw holes that were lined up with the old one. Also only being able to get one arm down to the access I had to tape the screws to the screwdriver. Happy to say it’s over but these new pumps and built in float sensors do not have the best reviews. We shall see.

SCFD rtrd.
You know, they make a small tool that clips onto the end of your screwdriver and holds the screw in place while you start the screw. I have 2 or 3 different sizes for small and large screwdrivers. Don't know the technical name, but they work great for this type work.
jrchandler
The other 2 holes should be down there and line up perfectly. When I swapped my pump, the original basket had the same exact 4 hole pattern as the elongated basket.

No this is the third rule 1100 bilge pump to go in this boat. The second one had a strainer design change and  fit the original mounting holes. The third one which has a round basket only lined up with two of the holes.😉
