RacerxV6
For those of you that have a quick releaseTM, How do you store it when not in use? I really don't want to just lay it on the garage floor. Has anyone DIY'd anything in their garage or perhaps just buy another QR bracket and install it on a wall? Pics welcomed. smooth move
another bracket on the wall is a great idea. a lot of the redfish tournament guys put another bracket on the stern of the boat and carry the TM there on long runs to keep from beating it up too much.
smilemaker
It is not difficult to make a bracket for the wall. You will need a piece of 1/4 inch steel plate cut to fit inside the trolling motor bracket. bolt it to a spacer with the ends open so that the pins can go through. Bolt it to the wall and you are ready to go. I have a similar bracket on my leaning post to hold the trolling motor when I don't want it on the bow.

SouthernWake
I stand it up against the wall resting on the motor skeg.

SouthernWake
Mine is a 24v fortrex, have a had 0 issues with it. I don’t think the motor is heavy enough to damage the metal skeg. i would not Lean it on the plastic as I bet that would warp over time with the heat and weight. linesider 159
You can order just the quick release base from minn Kota and save a few bucks. Do yourself a favor and get about a 1/8 inch piece of starboard and use it as a spacer off the wall. It will make it ten times easier to slide the pin through. Maybe even a touch bigger than that

Those oyster bars are a lot less for giving than my garage floor! The only problem if its a Minn Kota, chip that paint and the salt creep begins, sloooooooowly under the paint. Like my brother use to say when looking for a new gun, if the gun store employee told him not to dry fire the weapon because it would damage it, he would put it back down and say; then why would I buy a weapon to protect my family and myself that would be "damaged" from a simple dry fire, I don't want it then! Oh the faces! Ex-Army and gun collector of course.

polliwog
If you are a wine drinker like me ,I just use two empty wooden wine cases upside down on the floor and lay the unit on them. I prefer Bordeaux cases LOL
