Rsouthwick
I have a 2300hps with a 250sho. I used to match rpm to mph with a bravo 1 23 pitch prop, but since I put the tower on I’m only getting about 38 mph at 4200rpm and I can only get about 5600 rpm max with top speed of about 53mph (I used to get low 60’s and max rpm at 6k). Any ideas to boost this performance? Thanks! Russ
Moderator
You will need a new prop, at least. You may pick up some efficiency, but the drag of the tower will reduce your top speed. Anybody with this setup for advice ? MM
fin-addict
Not the same combo. My 03 2200v maxes at 5600, 43.2 mph. Normal cruise 25 @ 3500, 32 @ 4200 and so on till max rpm. Running with stand thru t top tower. You can expect a change with the tower. I have not played with props. Hope this helped a bit. Texas T
You could try to go down in pitch to increase rpm's but might not increase your speed. More horsepower is all I can think of that would work for sure.
HoneyB
I would think dropping to 22 or 21 pitch would be in order if you stay with the Bravo1 or try the Yamaha HS4 for similar type prop.
Buzzarde
I have a 2018 24', with a 300hp yamaha and had a tower with upper helm installed. The added drag of the tower cost me about 8 mph at top end. We tried several props and we were able to get to 5500 rpm but either lost the hole shot or lost the top end.
