smooth move
for me, Garmin is more user friendly, but i'm 71 and not a tech savy guy by any means.
smilemaker
what type of fishing do you do? if you like to fish artificial reefs and structure I would go with humminbird and 360. garmin would be my third choice.

Tall Tails
I had a Hummingbird 900 series on my old 22V about 5 years ago. Its side and down imaging were both better than my New Garmin on the 2500. If tarpon swam near the 22V I could see them. The image was so clear that I have photos of the thread on their dorsal fin that I could see on the screen. Honestly I am disappointed in the clarity of Garmin down and side imaging. User friendliness is great and customer support is as well. I just don't understand how a unit that was 5 year old so outperformed the new one. fin-addict
Garmin. I do feel the older chart shows more detail such as numbered markers and R or G if not mistaken. Seems that Simrad is the go to lately.
Fisherman
Thats what i want it to know. So Hummingbird is the one that really shows fish. I had garmin and never saw a fish. Thanks
fishmanjj
My Garmin 94SV shows fish and bait pods very well....you have to adjust the sensitivity gain according to your depth and water clarity. Garmin does have an excellent support staff and will walk you through the process as you sit in the boat in the water.

Several times had a walk thru while onboard.

That looks awesome but I'm stuck with a 10" Garmin for the time being on a new boat and catch a fish or two occasionally. That's impressive.
