Popular Post Chief5130
Signed a contract to retire old smokey and put a new 200 hp Suzuki on the transom. I tried to put another Yamaha but they make it too hard as they will not accept a trade, this Suzuki dealer did, and by switching allows the motor to be sold with all of the controls. I did not want to deal with a private sale of the motor. Yamaha is also 3-6 months behind in getting a motor to a dealer for a re-power. Also saved at least $3.5k over the Yamaha. So the wait is on for the new motor to show up.

We do a lot of wildlife photography from the boat and the Suzuki is the quietest (internal combustion ) motor there is. The Yamaha is a 9 on the quiet scale, the Suzuki is a 10+ on the quiet scale. When I had a Suzuki on my earlier Key West, often I would pull up to a dock somewhere and people would ask, "is that motor running?" It was that quiet. I understand that the Pandemic has slowed production in Japan to a crawl, your new motor may be a wait but well worth it. Good luck!
