Fishician
Hi guys: You are always so helpful. Yesterday, about 10 miles into White Water bay, my RPMs suddenly dropped. Keeping my hand steady on the throttle, the RPMs then increased above where I had the throttle. Motor ran very rough. Issue persisted. I shut the engine off. After restarting, I had to get to 5200 RPMs just to get on plane. Boat really struggled. I was able to stay on plane at about 4500 RPMs but motor continued to struggle. Made it back to the marina. At home, I irrigated the motor and again it sputtered. My last gas fill was 6 weeks ago at the Flamingo marina. I put in about 8 gallons at that time. Any insight into this problem is greatly appreciated
SouthernWake
Have you checked your fuel filters/water separators yet?
HoneyB
Look for water in gas tank. Filters and in your oil. Possible just water in fuel. Could be blown head gasket.
Moderator
Was your ball flat on the fuel line ? MM
Wanaflatsfish
check your spark plug cables...if you took off the cowling in a while you could have hit a wire...or it could be bad plugs. The other is the injectors could be clogged. dc
redzone1
Sounds like water in fuel.
geeviam
Good info here. If it's not one of the possibilities mentioned above, it could be caused by fuel flow restriction due to a sticky anti-siphon valve (where the fuel line exits the fuel tank). Fishician
Hi Guys: Just got my boat back from my mechanic. The issue was a faulty spark plug. I guess this can happen to anyone. Motor only has 75 hours. Completed yearly service as well. Now it runs like a charm. Thanks again for all your input
