koondog
Looking at adding a VHF and antenna to my 22trs. 2016, no t-top. Ideally I'd like to have the option of removing the antenna as I'll really only want to have access to it the few days at the nearshore reefs here off SC. Any of you use some sort of quick release mount for the antenna? Ideas / thoughts appreciated.
Bamaskeet
Shakespeare makes a free standing 8’ antenna that’s detachable. Keep the antenna in a under gunnel rod holder.
FINCHASER
This one from digital came highly recommended from some experienced folks on here many years ago. I ran one for many years and can attest it is a great antenna. The mast is detachable (bayonet fitting) I mounted the base directly to the top of the console http://www.digitalantenna.com/prods/vhfantenna_3.html

HoneyB
My experience with Digital was not as good as others. I liked mine so much I gave it away. I like the 4 foot Shakespeare little giant worked much better for me. The Shakespeare metal whip is great too. Shakespeare also has a mount made for a removable 4 or 8 foot antenna.
