Helm Removal 2000 Bayfisher

Recommended Posts

Start with wheel removal. Take off the center cap and remove the nut from the shaft of the helm.  You will hear a million wash’s to pop the wheel up. I like to loosen the nut to flush top. I then use a wide flat pry bar (not a screw driver). Pry up while hitting the shaft and flushed nut on the helm. This will pop the wheel up. Remove the nut and wheel and see if there really is that much play in the helm or the connection at the wheel.

The flat bar is important as to be wide enough not to bend your wheel. Using a puller will also bend the thin stainless on the wheel.
