Fish5
Has anyone put a swivel tongue jack on an ameritrail. Seems like it could only swivel towards the hitch.
DavidG
Mine swings to the rear. Hope this pic helps...David PS....Also know your lugs on the spare tire are not the same as the lugs on your trailer tires.

Bamaskeet
A swivel jack is a option on a Ameratrail trailer. They weld a plate on the I Beam to mount the jack.

Wanaflatsfish
BTW, I have two jackstands on my skiff...i have a wheel an then a flat bottom one...I never trust just one when I'm jumping in and out of the boat....my greatest fear is the front one collapsing. dc

Maybe outlaw could come up with a trailer tongue safety catch! He’ll make millions on that patent! I normally don’t get in mine loading or unloading unless it’s hooked to my truck. But I agree a jack stand is a great idea!
Carolinadrifter
Most trailer jacks are rated for 1000-1200lbs for a single axle trailer. You getting in and out of your boat isn’t putting much force on the tongue or the jack. If it’s in halfway decent shape and isn’t rusted out you have nothing to worry about.
