SCFD rtrd.
I've always kept my phone on top of the console and never had a problem. Well, got a new phone and the first time I went fishing, the phone said it was overheated and shutting down. I put it in my pocked to get it out of the sun and it started doing all sorts of stupid stuff. So, apparently I need to keep my phone in the shade. But, I don't hear that well, so it has to be close and in the open. What do you do to keep your phone handy but not overheated?
fishmanjj
I have an Apple phone 8 and it also will “ over heat “ if it sits in direct sunlight on top of console for about an hour. However, I have found that I can cover it with a hand towel it does not overheat.
HoneyB
If you have a cup holder around the side of the console stand your phone up in there. It will be better than it laying flat on the console. Then cover it with a towel for shade
jim33042
In a flats boat, anchored - on the shady side of console top row of rod rack behind rod holders, or under gunnel - on the top of rod holder. Always shady easy to reach when on a sandbar. I’ve also tucked it underneath my gps on the top of the console (shade there as well). If running I always have it inside console, usually sitting inside my gps hardcover.
Big Dave
I turn it off and stow it away!
fin-addict
Cup holder on t top upright support. Phone on stb side, cigs/lighter port side.
NCTribute
Keep mine stowed in a cooler, leaning post storage or boat bag. Use my Samsung watch to answer phone calls. Any Bluetooth earbud will work also. But with my watch I still see text messages, weather, email, gps etc...
Headhunter
Store mine away in the side compartment in a water proof case I got from CCA. Don’t laugh but I answer the phone, text Eric on my I watch. My daughter bought it for me to keep track of my afib and heart rate but it turned out pretty cool for other stuff. jh141
I keep my phone as far away from me as possible when out enjoying creation. Really In the console compartment ( glove box ) far away but close enough.
nhinshoreangler
RAM X-Grip RAM-B-166-UN7U - car holder for cellular phone - RAM-B-166-UN7U - Laptop Accessories - CDW.com Ram x-grip mounted with a rail mount on the top rail. If you zoom in you will see it. I like it there, allows me to use it as a mini GPS (Navionics App) and handy for pictures. 2
Coto
That's a great pic and something you don't see often, someone poling a Pathy!
BradM
I keep mine under the leaning post seat. I don't think your model of 23 had the cup holders in the console yet. How about the glove box below the helm, or was that a 2018 upgrade too? Like others have mentioned, if you can keep it upright in a cup holder and throw a rag over it, it will be fine. MuddyBottomBluz
Put my phone in a cup holder like most of you, but this one time the drain clogged and the holder filled with water, then the phone! I put it away in a waterproof case and still use the blue tooth feature.
Sunstone
I use this magnetic mount with a suction mount. Installed this 3 years ago and it hasn't moved at all. Phone never falls off even in heavy seas.
Sunstone
Click on the image and it will appear right side up. Don't know why it does that.
RacerxV6
My Avid has a phone holder with a bungie strap on the console right by the throttle but it does sit in direct sunlight I will on occasion get the dreaded overheating... so I place it in the cooler on a rack. I just check it periodically

My phone is provided by my employer, so if it had enough waterproofing, I would like to smear some chum slime on it, and hang it over the side of the boat. That way, I wouldn't hear it, see it, or be tempted to look at it... and if it took a hit, oh well! But seriously, I use the RAM X-grip on the console side rail/handle, as mentioned above, and I like it for shooting pics and video.

HA, my boss would be FIRED up if she called me and I didn't answer, especially with a 5 y/o at the house 😁. But, I feel the same way about constant access all of the time.
MikeH
I mounted a Quad Lock adhesive wall mount to my console, between the binnacle and the wheel. It works great. My phone is right where I need it. Easy to see. Easy to operate.
