GAbarhopper
Anyone know what the body of this fly is made of?[image]http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/toad_3.jpg[/image]
Rod Wrapper
It looks like spun deer hair, but it is hard to tell from the photo.
GAbarhopper
It is a synthetic, it looks like a small stiff mylar. I have seen them in gold and copper.
Junior Fly
Puglisi Fibers! We tye our Kwan's with this stuff, it glows, it shimmers and won't hold water. Cream color is just sexy on the sand guys. If I was a betting man, I'd say Puglisi Fibers

Rod Wrapper
Scott: Send me five or six, and I will see if I can figure it out. Seriously, probably EP fibers like the others said.
Benzo
Looks like an Umpqua redfish toad. You can get the similar effect using Puglisi sparkle wire brush, palmering it tight on teh hook, and trimming it to shape.
flyflicker
You can certainly use EP material. Here are some similar flies I tied using a product called McFlylon. It comes in strands perfect for crab patterns. [image]http://www.mbcforum.com/fbbuploads/1219510763-Guide_Service_00066.JPG[/image]
Junior Fly
I've been tying these Crab flies for a while with a craft fur tail. I Just recently completed about 4 orders for these same crabs with a bucktail tail and a gold bead head. Hmmmmm. I was wandering where this new change in crab pattern came from... I tied locally and commercially at one time. It got overwhelming. Now i just tie the local favs for the locals and tourists...........Nice Flies man...... flyflicker
Capt. Eric Gl*** uses them and I copied them. He told me he got the idea from Capt. Bill Hagen. Not sure if he is the originator or not. Great for getting through our gr*** and as Upole and I found out, can be the ONLY thing a red will eat some days.
