fishinfool1
Wanting to swap from the current atlas 6”jackplate that came with the boat to the bob 6” jackplate. My concern is the bobs is slightly taller than the atlas and it will not fit the same footprint. I mean the bobs will sit on the black powder coated top cap on the transom and the atlas sits just under it making for a flush fit. Has anyone done the bobs and what was the solution to the trim piece. Did you grind the jack plate, the trim piece or shim the jack plate to achieve a flush fit? Attached a pic for clarification. stosiak
I have a 2022 23 HPS that has a 6" Atlas jack plate that sits on top cap as in your picture. Just noticed this yesterday and was going to ask the question as why it is like that. I would think the jack plate would need to sit flush with the transom. fishinfool1
I would think that over time the weight from a 300 would cause the bottom of the gel to dent due to the gap
jh141
That would drive me crazy. I would have to have me favorite machinist chuck it up in the Bridge Port and fix me up some clearance. Would likely be easier to trim the transom cap. Either way I would want it Flush. IMO
fishinfool1
Here is the solution, had to notch the powder coated metal transom cap to make the jack plate fit flush
