smilemaker
It's easy finding engine weights but not so easy for boats. Does anyone know the gross weight of an 04 2200TE I know gas and equipment will need to be added. Trying to figure a good tongue weight fo positioning the new torsion-axles. Chief5130
If I remember correctly, the bare hull, just the fiberglass is ~1500 Lbs.
smilemaker
Thanks that will give me a start. Now to add up all the other things you don't think about. Motor, fuel , tackle TM and of course the trailer itself.
jh141
How much different are the newer boats?? Here are Performance Bulletins that give dry weight and weight tested. https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/home/outboards/v-max-sho/v6-4-2l/vf250/pb_pat_2200tournament_vf250la_2013-07-16_flt https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/home/outboards/v-max-sho/v6-4-2l/vf200/pb_pat_2200trs_vf200la_2010-12-22_flt https://yamahaoutboards.com/en-us/home/outboards/350-150-hp/in-line-4/f200-i4/pb_pat_2200trs_f200xb_2013-06-18_flt I am guessing a good average would be 3200 pounds The newest TRS with the F200 was either a typo of it was tested with six people on board, LOL
smilemaker
The original 2200TE definitely weighed less than the TRS. Hard to believe that the increased gunnel would add 500 lbs so split the difference and start the tally 2200TE. 1750 200hpdi. 475 60 gal gas. 460 5 group 31 bat 350 need lithium bad Minn Kota tm. 55 Trailer. 1100 Safety equip. 200 Fishing tackle. 200 Total. 4162 Don't know if this is close but the tounge weight is 450 lbs and the boat has always tracked and towed well. Just thinking out loud before I drill holes to mount the torsion axles . All thoughts are appreciated.
jh141
I think you are very close to where you need to be. It is my experience that with Torsion axles "level" is very important. My 31 foot Haulmark enclosed trailer as well as my Ameritrail for my 2200 TRS tow best when they are level. Because their independent it Keeps the load balanced between the four tires. For some reason I keep coming back to at or close to 500 pound tongue weight on my boat trailers through the years.
Bamaskeet
I weighed my 2200V on a truck scales and it was 4,600 lbs including my 50 gal shad tank that weighs 400 lbs. Rolling down the road my 2200V weighed 4,200 lbs. without the shad tank.
