nbk65bo
Any quick tips on how to tie them in? I am fishing a new area and it has very small 6-12" dying-decaying gr*** that loves to catch on crab flies. I know of two types, the V and a loop type. The V i think I can tye, but it seems by design to be detrimental to the action of the fly. I would like any input on the loop type. Thanks for any help. Chris. Chris. shadow
when you start your fly. tie your mono on top of hook from front to back down the bend of the hook." about 1/4 of the way down alittle less or more depends on the hook." wrap back up. leave mono out the back. tie your fly. when finished take mono and pull to eye of hook. leave the loop bigger the the point of hook. tie off at eye trim butt end and wrap down and tie off . there you go you just did a loop weed guard. Newman
a good weedguard is critical for south carolina fishing. the loops work okay, but a double v-shaped guard made of sevenstrand sevalon 27lb coated wire is the ticket, most tackle stores sell it as i guess some kingmakerel guys use it, its all i use,
