2300 HPS fit a Airmar M285c transducer?

Just curious if anyone has or know if this transducer will fit in the transducer location through the fuel tank? Currently have the P79 at the moment and looking to upgrade to something a little better. This one doesn’t start to read until 10’-15’ of water and doesn’t really seem to pick up bait that well. It will be paired up with a simrad evo3

And, before you spend more money, look at the current transducer to be sure it's installed correctly. There should be a red arrow on top of the transducer and that arrow should point toward the keel. Make sure the transducer wire is not close to other wiring to reduce "noise / interference". Also, make sure the elect. wiring is hooked directly to a battery and not to the distribution panel.  Also, most transducers can be adjusted for "off-set" depending on where it is mounted. An example of off-set would be to compare a transom mount to a thru-hull. Your thru-hull is about 13" deeper in the water than most transom mounts. Someone could have calibrated the off-set wrong. I would go through the manual page by page to be sure everything is adjusted correctly. Just saying.

Thanks for the advise. I did the install myself. Transducer is installed correctly and made sure to keep the wires away from other as much as possible under the deck and kept completely separate once above deck. Power wires are hooked to a fuse block on the boat. Don’t really have interference issues. Just doesn’t start reading depth until about 10’. It does show bottom though. Was recently on a buddies boat with a 1k transducer and detail was so much better and could definitely see the bait balls on the bottom way easier than the P79. Not really into drilling holes in the boat. Was just poking around at other transducer options.
