2004 2400 vs newer models

Hello all, new to the group and still learning how to use the forum. I am going to look at an 04 2400 with a 225 4 stroke on it. Couple questions for the group...

1. Whats the main difference between the newer models and a boat this old?

2. If I wanted to Repower this 2004 with a new 300 Yamaha, could the boat properly hold it?

3. I haven't seen this particular boat in person yet, and the pictures I have are very limited. It appears the current 225 is mounted right on the transom and not a jack plate. Is that even possible? Don't think I've seen 24 with the motor NOT on jack plate. Could just be the pictures playing tricks on me.

Thanks for any and all info!

I have a good friend with the same year 2400 and it had the same 225 mounted right to the transom.  That model 24’ has a 25” transom and there is no issues mounting right to it.  He has now repowered with a 300 Yamaha and a 6” bobs plate.  It’s a much better boat now.  It handles the extra power with ease.
