Seacraft06
I need to pull out and recaulk the joint in the gunnel insert and the console insert on my 25. Has anyone done this and what product have you found is the best for this application? Thank you
Headhunter
Search for one of my threads. I did it on my 22 during Covid. All of the materials and tools are in there.

Headhunter
Yeah, the silicone is tougher to work with but I never got any mildew back in it so from that perspective it was worth the extra effort. It’s also not as smooth finished but again it looked bright white when I sold the boat a few moths ago. I would do it again that way. good luck
Headhunter
I would probably go with starbrite silicone next time rather than what I used
fishingfool485
I redid the joints on my 25 last year. This is what the factory used so I bought the same stuff. Looks good as new
SCFD rtrd.
Look on page 2 of the General Forum. Wanaflatsfish just posted a great article about caulking.
