Seacraft06
I have been looking to add some forward rod holders to my 2500. I finally got around to it. The fuel fill side was a little sketch as I had to make it fit between the fuel fill, speaker and fuel vent. I was able to get it right thankfully! I then copied it to the other side. I still need to get the angle to match and drill the bolt/screw holes. Man I was nervous drilling those holes 😳!!
smilemaker
Can't have too many rod holders 04 2200TE have 6 installed on each side. The ones I like best are vertical. Makes it nice to put rod in while unhooking a flopping red or trout.
Goose77
Nice! That’s a great spot for fishing the front deck…I’m sure that was the plan.
FINCHASER
This project is on the radar for mine as well..... are those the short rod holders or normal length?

They are normal 15 degree. I called and ordered them from pathfinder. Think they were $36 a piece or so. They are gemlux and I think they are $60 a piece on their website!
SCFD rtrd.
There was a post a while back about drilling holes for rod-holders. Someone showed step by step, how to drill the hole on an angle for 15 and 30 degree rod holder. It was a simple trick, but new to most of us. Bamaskeet
Instead of rod holder in that spot, I installed spring cleats. Since the factory spring cleats are almost worthless. I installed rod holders in the covering board as far forward as possible. That way they don’t interfere with storage under the gunnel.

I do have to agree. A lot of time I only tie up with the spring cleat as I load/ unload clients. It is in a terrible spot.
