AThomas Posted October 15, 2022 Report Share Posted October 15, 2022 I bought a 95 Maverick MA 18 with a 2012 Yamaha 250 4 stroke 30" shaft setting on a Bobs 4" Jackplate. I intend to swap out the shaft and wanted to ask if it is better to go with a 20 or 25 inch shaft set up. The boat will run mid 50s at 4800 with the jackplate down. I am running a 14.5 X 21 Pitch S/S prop. I am not sure what she would run if I can get the drag from that long shaft out of the water and cavitation plate skimming the surface of the water.
