Purebred
Looking for some feedback on where to start on a prop with this repower. Any info on a 250 SHO or a flashed motor to 332. Thanks
redzone1
Probably start with something in a 25 pitch and wear a motorcycle helmet
geeviam
Not sure on pitch, and 250 hp to 332 hp is a big spread. This prop is designed for big 4-stroke Yamahas on high performance hulls. Available in 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 pitch sizes. Like a BRP Raker but made with tougher stainless: https://www.partsvu.com/yamaha-fxp-14-3-4-x-25-r-w-hub-mar-14725-r0-00.html
HoneyB
People with flashed SHO’s seem to like the Bravo1FS. I second the mid 20 something in pitch suggestion.

Moderator
If you are setting up the boat for top speed you may also want to ask that question on the Scream and Fly forum. Those boys run very fast boats and deal with the taller props. They should have more and better suggestions for you. Be careful going that far beyond the CG plate for HP. It is not recommended, of course. Boats get squirrelly at v. high speeds, and there is a learning curve to survive. Mod Marc

Here's a test run of a RF 21 with a 250 SHO, with Captain Rick Murphy at the helm: https://www.facebook.com/mbgboats/videos/109804655697040/
Moderator
Capt Murphy was up on the pad.. Official Bulletin shows 63.3 mph with a 21 pitch Yam prop. That’s the new 21R.. I dare say your boat with the flashed 250 SHO will run well North of that, with a speed prop. Lots of critical factors in that rare-air. CG has to be right with weight where it’s needed..etc. Mistakes are seldom recoverable. Learning the boat and trim before WOT is key. That 21RF is a fast boat to begin with. If you are gonna do the overclocked SHO, The Scream and Fly guys will have the best prop advice. See what the knowledgeable folks tell you.. geeviam
Capt. Murphy is driving the older model RF 21 in the video I posted, which doesn't have a pad on the keel like the new model. The OP's older RF 21 is lighter and more sleek than the new RF 21, and still has good lift even without the pad. A 2003 RF 21 will be scary-fast with a flashed SHO, and may hit the rev limit at half throttle with a 21 pitch, lol. Please let us know what you end up with once you talk to the knowledgeable folks on S&F. Good luck, and stay safe.
Lap it Up
Reach out to Linesider. He ran a 21 with a 250 and has a buddy with a 21 fusion with a worked SHO. The fusion is the same 21RF hull with a pathfinder console. I recall that boat running into the 70’s with some work done.
MuddyBottomBluz
Where are you located? Because Seapower in Miami, by Kendall Executive Airport has many props, used & new and if you buy a prop from them they will allow exchanges on the original prop purchased until you find the perfect prop for your ride. Tell Jack the owner, great guy, that you were referred by Maverick Boat Groups website forum.
