JerryM Posted February 12, 2023 Report Share Posted February 12, 2023 Anyone know a safe place to install 15 degree rod holders in the bow area where they will fit and not be in conflict with anything? cbondy Posted May 11, 2023 Report Share Posted May 11, 2023 My dealer here in Houston advised against it as if you install a rod holder on the open part of the gunnel you interfere with the gunnel rod holders. And no practical way to install in the bow area without interfering with the hull wall. I opted to install a pair of Engel surface mount rod holders vertically in the forward cockpit on the face of each rod locker. I’ve done it on all 8 of my MBG boats over the years. 1 Hewes Redfisher, 2 Maverick Master Anglers, and 5 Pathfinders. No issues whatsoever.
