DaveVero
Looking for who makes this piece or where to buy it. Want it exact to match existing screw holes.
lurem
That is 'old school'! Member Hobo used to make them back in the day and I bought it from him. If you are handy and have the tools you can make them yourself with a piece of starboard, router, drill bits, etc. Maybe a member has an old one around. Chief5130
I have made a few of these for others also. I have a template, the problem is matching the hole pattern.
smilemaker
To transfer the hole pattern tape a piece of thin paper over the area. Put the cover in place and trace the outline. Next take a pencil or charcoal and due a rubbing like a tombstone. The hole pattern will show through. Place the cover on the paper in its outline and mark the holes. Drill and countersink the holes. The hole should be just slightly larger to allow the threads to engage the trandom and pull it tight. I'm sure Hobo will add to fill the holes with resin drill and tap for stainless machine screws.

Once it's removed, Dremel out the hole a bit, then mix epoxy to fill it in....it will be as strong as new...then make one or find one and redial the holes...this is only a cover and not under any tension from the water etc. As mentioned, it's not that difficult to make one with a router.... dc
