George Seither
Has anyone used the Atlas style jack plate transducer mounts? https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=4f4c843157aa919fJmltdHM9MTY4Mzc2MzIwMCZpZ3VpZD0zN2UwNGM3My1kNmZhLTZhOTQtMWQ3Ny00N2I4ZDc1ODZiNGImaW5zaWQ9NTI2Nw&ptn=3&hsh=3&fclid=37e04c73-d6fa-6a94-1d77-47b8d7586b4b&psq=jack+plate+transducer+mount+lowrance&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9yeXRla21hcmluZS5jb20vcHJvZHVjdHMvcnl0ZWstbG93cmFuY2UtdG90YWxzY2FuLWxzczItM2luMS0yaW4xLWphY2twbGF0ZS1tb3VudA&ntb=
jh141
I have not used their Jack Plate mount, But I do have RyTek's Transducer mount and the craftmanship is excellent. It is 100 times stronger and better made than the factory bracket. They a a pleasure to do business with.
Fish5
Is that a good place to mount the transducer. Mine was mounted when purchased. I will lose bottom any where from 25-30mph
jh141
To me, from the picture the location is good, but it looks high. I have to keep mine pretty far down to keep it from losing depth while running. That causes water to spray up onto the cowling Thus the spray shield.
Fish5
I ordered that bracket, so it should have more adjustment, probably should have ordered the shield as well
jh141
I made the shield from some very thin sheet carbon fiber I had left from another project. Rytek makes three different upper brackets he sells separately. Allows you to raise and lower without drilling more holes. You should be good with just the added length of the slots on the new bracket.

Any idea of the thickness of the carbon fiber
jh141
It measures .034 thousands or 1/32 of an inch.
Fish5
Installed the Rye Tech transducer mount today. How far down should it ride. I’m sure it’s specific to each boat but in general.
jh141
I have mine set where the seam is even with the bottom of the boat chime. As low as you and the boat will tolerate, meaning is it throwing water all over the place, is it acting like a small trim tab, is it giving good readings at speed, you know its all a compromise.
