Capt Blake
I bought a 72” inch shaft Minn Kota I-Pilot for my 24 foot Pathfinder and it’s still sitting under the house and not installed yet. My mechanic thinks it’s too overkill for the boat but a friend has the 6 foot shaft on his and thinks it is better than the 5 foot shaft. I’m looking for ideas. jh141
I fish in a bit of chop at times and wish I had a 72" over my 60" The only down side of 72" over 60" is being able to mount it and keep the TM head inside the rub rail for docking. On my 22 foot Pathfinder it is just barely inside the rub rail.
Capt Blake
Great insight. I will have to check that. I measured the loa of the minn Kota and it was about 84” I believe. Thank you.
Bamaskeet
I have a 60” trolling motor on my 2500. It’s perfect, if you need a long trolling motor, it’s too sloppy to fish.

I went with the 36V 72" and am pretty happy...yes, it does reach over the gunnels, but, you just have to remember when docking...for me, not a huge issue, just change docking profile For me HPS 23 I also cut down one of the guide rails on the trailer. Blake Pearce
Thanks for your opinions! Think I will keep the 72" one I already bought.
