jacks986
Hi fellow members, I just re-powered my 1998 Hewes Bayfisher 16 with a Honda 90 and the tech pointed out a crack in the transom that he thought I should look at. The crack has been there for a while and obviously I am carrying an extra 50 lb due to switch to the 4 stroke. I would like your opinion, is this serious? Should it be addressed immediately or watched? How big of a fix is this? $$?
geeviam
A better picture of the crack would help - up close and clear... If that's a sheared crack and foam core is exposed, it's a bad one that should be addressed before any more use.
polliwog
Is the crack new? I woul have someone who knows fiberglass take a look. Better fix now before more issue come up.
