SCFD rtrd. Posted August 31, 2023 Report Share Posted August 31, 2023 Those battery switches are prone to breaking when you tighten the nuts to secure the wires. bilge rat Posted September 3, 2023 Report Share Posted September 3, 2023 Put a copper nut on the stud and snug it to the base of the stud then install the wire followed by another copper nut. Use a thin openend wrench to hold the bottom nut then tighten the top nut. This should reduce the stress on the housing when torquing the nut to firmly hold the wire for a good electrical bond. Use the thin wrench on the bottom nut when removing the top nut/wire because you can break the switch that way too. Been there done this.
