Austin Suggestions?

Looking at a trip to Austin in 2024 to see a football game.  Any recommendations on where would be the best place to stay around town?  Also considering VRBO/AirBB.  Will be there 3-5 nights.  Have never spent any time in TX so want to take in all we can while there.  On our list is lots of BBQ.

If you have time check out Coopers in Llano. Real good ‘que but a bit of a drive. Expect August to be miserable with the sun actually trying to kill you. Also there are wine tours where they load u up in a bus and go to the vineyards out west in Fredericksburg.

Places like Torchies tacos and Franklin bbq are kind of mandatory for 1st timers as well.

Looks like we will be there in late November so will probably be tolerable for us Northernmost SECers.  Have any recommendations on where to stay?  Have heard near the river walk area or the music district?

I do not get downtown very often but do know that parking is tortuous so look at places that you can walk to the stadium such as the Doubletree. San Antonio has the river walk but plan about 1.5 hours to get from the river walk or the Pearl district to downtown Austin
