mrcitadel2008 Posted November 22, 2023 Report Posted November 22, 2023 I recently purchased a 2018 2200 pathfinder with a Garmen 94 head unit which i assume is from the factory. I want to instal a new Simrad evo3s and am not sure what type of cable convertor I would need. I dont like cutting harnesses if I can help it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
jim33042 Posted November 23, 2023 Report Posted November 23, 2023 I did see some instruction in which the original garmin line was cut and the new connector cable on Simrad was cut for splicing, but this does seem to have complications, also could be issue with power consumption for transducer garmin vs Simrad (ie could fry transducer). Maybe start here... https://www.boemarine.com/blog/post/the-ultimate-mix-and-match-compatibility-guide otherwise, how about going through a nema 2000 network setup? Is it possible?? Maybe easier to set up than trying to splice. This could be as simple as a phone call to Simrad or Airmar? finally, just take out old transducer and replace with the correct model? Diameter maybe the same and you're not dealing with having to retap hole for sizing. Good luck and would like to hear your final result. Quote
