finlander
Instructions: I found this link online first and it got me started. The rest was just making small adjustments until I liked the results. http://www.nwmangum.com/spoonfly/index.html I added an 80# weed guard, just a bent piece of mono. The link offered a downloadable 300 dpi print template which is very helpful. I just added colors to the template and used it as backing. It gets covered in a heavy layer of epoxy anyway. A little sparkle from the craft store can give the belly a bit more flash. The rest was so easy I got carried away making them. Have fun.
Capt. Troy
Those are some great looking spoons. You ever try the variation by adding some weight and closing "folding" the spoon closed. It ends up looking like a Doc's Goofy Jig. A buddy gave me a few and they were Pompano killers.
finlander
I have added weighted eyes but have not folded one. Send a pic?
Benzo
Real pretty flies... a few buddies of mine do a lot of redfishing in the Gulf coast with spoon flies!!! I wonder if the redfish here in Flamingo will eat them as well.

Capt. Troy
Here is a pic of the goofy jig so you can see how to shape the spoon fly into one. http://forshorefishing.theledger.com/default.asp?item=2215176
finlander
I have entered one of my spoon flies into the fly contest. The competition is very good and even I am partial to one other than my own but I would still like your vote.
