cumberlandjg
I've noticed my rabuds (installed within last 2 years) on my 2004 22TE are failing. It sort of happens at random and can be with 3 people and the stern livewell full or even with me in the boat fishing. The ping pong balls in the rabud and the inside of the rabuds themselves are fairly clean and I do not see anything blocking them, any idea why they may be failing? smilemaker
The clear plastic insert/seal gets hard with age. If you installed yours as advocated here on this site you can easily take it off and feel if it has lost its elasticity. If so replace it.
Chief5130
Take them off and clean them. When mine have leaked it is always something in there that is hard or cannot be seen from the outside. Mine are almost 20 years old and still going strong.
ASB
Weird my Rabuds have one side that works and the other doesn’t.
Wanaflatsfish
remember, they must be mounted upside down so the ball floats up and then seats into the opening....yes, they do deteriorate...might be time to just change out the soft plastic inserts. dc
